COVID vaccines for younger kids likely available in November: Anthony Fauci

COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 5 to 11 years will likely be available in the first half of next month, said top U.S. infectious disease expert, Anthony Fauci.

In an interview, Fauci said that if everything goes well, and the regulatory approval and CDC recommendation are received, it is possible that vaccines will be available for 5-11-year-olds within the first two weeks of November. The Pfizer/BioNTech application requesting for authorization of its vaccine for younger children is being reviewed by the U.S. FDA officials, and its panel of outside advisers is scheduled to consider it on October 26.
